Design Psychology
Understand the habits and causes that may underlie the difficulties you have with your home.
In the course of working in hundreds of homes with a large variety of people, Risa has always worked hard to get great results for her clients. Most clients respond well to traditional design and organizing techniques. In several cases however, she realized that her clients were experiencing problems that did not respond to implementing typical changes- maybe they had hoarding problems, or chronic inability to complete projects, or grief, or depression. Occasionally a trauma that occurred, like a robbery or assault, caused behavior patterns of which the person was unaware. In many cases these clients exhausted other methods to resolve their problems without success because the problem specifically manifested in their home as clutter, disarray, or excessive tidiness, or compulsive shopping for the home - to name a few.
For all of these different issues whether they are minor or major, Risa pioneered an approach to working with people in their homes to help. She is not a licensed therapist. She works with clients incorporating a coaching style that is compassionate and gradual and her process has given many clients long lasting, profound effects. Her clients report major changes in habits and in their approach to handling their homes and the maintenance in order to have easier, less overwhelming homes and lives.
